Bars, serveries and back bar joinery
The bar is the part of the room that has to look right and take a beating for twenty years. We build the carcass square and level, run the bar top in one clean line, and set the footrail, drip tray and glass wash at the heights the staff actually work at rather than the heights on the drawing.
Back bar shelving gets built to the bottle heights you stock, lit properly, and made serviceable so a failed strip light does not mean pulling the whole unit apart. Where a bar front is pressed metal, timber panelling or tile, we set it out so the joints land where they should and not halfway through a feature.

Bistros, lounges and gaming rooms
Seating decides how many covers a room does. We build banquettes, booths and bench seating in place so they follow the walls, use the corners properly and leave the aisles the widths your staff need to get a tray through. Backs and bases are built to be re-upholstered later without the whole run coming out.
The rest is what makes a room feel like somewhere people stay: wall panelling, feature walls, joinery that hides the services, and lighting positions set out before the linings go on rather than after.

Heritage pubs and older buildings
Most Hunter pubs are old buildings that have been altered five or six times already. Nothing is square, the floor falls away in one corner, and there is usually something structural hiding behind the last fitout. We open up carefully, find out what is actually holding the building up, and price the repair honestly instead of covering it back over.
Where there is original detailing worth keeping we match the profiles and reinstate it. Where a wall has to come out, it comes out to an engineered detail with the steel sized for the job, not guessed at.

Working around a venue that is still trading
Every hospitality job we quote comes with a written program that says which room is out of service, for how long, and what your patrons will see while it happens. Hoardings go up before demolition starts, dust protection goes over the neighbouring rooms, and the site is cleaned down before doors open.
Demolition, core drilling and anything loud gets programmed after close or overnight. It costs a little more in labour and it costs far less than a fortnight of lost trade. We coordinate with your licensee on access, deliveries and where the trades park so nothing lands in the middle of a service.

Pubs & Clubs questions
Can you do a pub fitout while we keep trading?
Yes, and it is how most of our hospitality work runs. We stage it room by room, hoard off the work zone, and program demolition, core drilling and anything loud for after close or overnight. You get a written program up front showing which room is out of service and for how long.
Do you build the bar and joinery yourselves?
The carpentry and built in joinery is ours: bar carcasses and tops, back bar shelving, banquette and booth seating, panelling and display cabinetry. Stone tops, upholstery and specialist stainless are done by trades we have worked with for years, and we coordinate them so they turn up in the right order.
What happens if you find something structural once the linings come off?
On an older pub it is likely. We open up early where we can, tell you what we have found with photos before it is covered again, and price the repair as a variation with the engineering behind it. Anything we cannot see at quote stage goes in as a clearly named provisional sum rather than being buried in the total.
Do you handle the approvals for a licensed venue?
We work alongside your certifier, designer and where needed your liquor licensing consultant. Fitouts in licensed venues generally need a Complying Development Certificate or a DA depending on scope and whether the licensed area or capacity changes, and we will tell you which path your job falls under before you commit.
How long does a bar or bistro refit take?
A single room refresh, meaning seating, panelling and lighting, is often two to four weeks. A full bar rebuild with new joinery and services is more commonly six to twelve weeks. Staging it around trade stretches the calendar but keeps the doors open, and we set that out in the program before we start.
